We’ve had 16 typing machines at the type-in yesterday. So it seemed like a good idea to compare all the fonts on one single paper. Not all the ribbons were moist enough, and some of the machines are still in need of some cleaning and on top of that, I couldn’t scan above 600 dpi without freezing my laptop… So the scan isn’t as wonderful as the actual paper.
It’s hard to say anything negative about these fonts. I like them all. But the fonts I like best are those of the third Tippa, because it’s squary. And the one from the Teletype, also squary but with a fling to it at the end of each line.
The Underwood 450 and the second Tippa cleary have the most clean fonts. Or the best ribbons. Or even both if you are that person who always wants to check the “all above”-box.
The font of the Imperial kinda surprised me. I didn’t type with it yet, because my ribbon is all dried out. But we stuck another one in there and tried to get one sentence out of it. It’s font certainly is flashy, look at that curly 4!
